WESTERVILLE, Ohio – John Carroll has been tabbed as the favorite to win the 2024 Ohio Athletic Conference women’s cross country title, as voted on by the league coaches.
Last season, the Blue Streaks earned their fourth consecutive OAC Cross Country title, scoring 32 points, which was a program record at a conference meet. At the Great Lakes Regional Championships, four women earned All-Region honors placing fourth as a team, which was their fourth consecutive top-4 finish, just missing out on a bid to the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships.
John Carroll will be led by Daniel Tutskey, who has been promoted to Director of Cross Country and Track and Field. For the past four seasons, Tutskey served as the associate head coach for track & field and an assistant coach for cross country. Former head coach Kyle Basista recently moved on to Yale University to serve as the head men's cross country coach and assistant men's track & field coach.
Across Tutskey’s four seasons, John Carroll has notched 28 OAC Championships, 35 school records, 44 All-Americans, 56 national qualifiers, 113 All-Region honorees and 134 All-OAC performances, among many other accolades.
The Blue Streaks will open the season on Friday, Aug. 3 at the Bill Sudeck Invitational in Hunting Valley, Ohio, hosted by Case Western Reserve University.
