Mount Union senior libero Lauren Mastroine (Orrville) led the Purple Raiders to a 2-0 record last week. Mastroine tallied a team-high 16 digs and had four assists in a 3-0 win over Marietta. In a 3-2 win over Ohio Northern, Mastroine set a new career-high with 47 digs and added a career-high six kills. Her 47 digs was the most by a Mount Union player since 2010

John Carroll junior middle hitter Sarah Orlandi (Brecksville/Brecksville-Broadview Hts.) led the Blue Streaks to wins over Heidelberg and Marietta last week with 33 kills, eight blocks and six digs. Orlandi is responsible for scoring 39 points and has reached 200 kills for the third consecutive season.
