OUTDOOR

4.23.12

Track- Heidelberg senior Jazmine Shaw (Columbus/Hamilton Township) won the 400-meter dash in 58.66 at the Baldwin-Wallace “Sparky” Adams Invitational.

Field – Mount Union senior Aubree Jones (Falconer, N.Y./Falconer) earned three first place finishes at the Marietta Twilight Invitational. Jones won the javelin (128-8), shot put (40-7) and discus (139-9).




4.16.12

Track- Mount Union junior Mary Mahoney (Ashtabula/St. John-St. Paul) won four events and set a pair of meet records at the All-Ohio Championships. Her time in the 400-meter dash (56.24) set a new meet record. She also was a member of the 4x400 meter relay team that set a meet record (3:51.43). Mahoney also took first in the 200-meters (25.07) and was a member of the winning the 4x100-meter relay (48.59). The Purple Raiders won the team title.

Field –Otterbein junior Kristen Bennett (Wadsworth) won both the long jump (17-10.75) and triple jump (36-5) at the All-OAC Championships. The Cardinals placed eighth among 19 teams.


4.9.12

Track- Mount Union sophomore Taylor Kring (Salem/West Branch)led the Purple Raiders at the John Homon Open with two first place finishes. Kring won the 100-meter hurdles in 14.30 and the 400-meter hurdles in 1:05.38.

Field –Marietta senior Ashley Bault (Atwater/Waterloo)finished second among Division I competitors and was the top Division III performer in the heptathlon at the Liberty Invitational with 4, 671 points. Bault set personal records in the 200-meter dash (26.05), shot put (10.08m) and the 800-meter run (2:28.18).


4.2.12

Track-Baldwin-Wallace junior Kaylan Lemon (Canton/Massillon Perry) won the 100-meter dash (12.70), 200-meter dash (25.87) and anchored the winning 400-meter relay team (59.76) to help the Yellow Jackets to a second place finish at the OAC Split meet.

Field –Mount Union senior Aubree Jones (Falconer, N.Y./Falconer) won both the javelin and discus events at the OAC Split Meet at John Carroll. Jones posted a mark of 118-1 in the javelin and 139-11 in the discus. Her mark in the discus is the ninth-best in the nation so far this season.

Track- John Carroll sophomore Gabriella Kreuz(Lakewood/St. Joseph Academy) won two events at the Muskingum Amy Adams Memorial Invitational. Kreuz won the 1,500-meter run (4:47.24) and ran lead off for the winning 4x400 relay team (4:06.54).

Field –Heidelberg junior Marian Bevington (Celina/Parkway) won three events at the Rose-Hulman Early Bird Meet. Bevington took first place in the javelin (98-8.00), long jump (17-6.25) and broke the facility record in the 100-meter hurdles (15.39). Her long jump mark ranks 10th nationally, while her 100-meter hurdles time stands at 17th


3.20.12

Track- Mount Union junior Mary Mahoney (Ashtabula/St. John-St. Paul) helped the Purple Raiders to a first place finish at the Stark County Championships with two first place finishes. Mahoney placed first in the 200-meter dash with a school record time of 24.37, which is currently the best time in the nation. Mahoney was also a member of the winning 4x100 relay team (48.82).

Field – Mount Union senior Aubree Jones (Falconer, N.Y.) won two events to help lead the Purple Raiders to the team title at the Stark County Championships. Jones won the javelin (124-3) and the shot put (41-3.25).

2.20.12

Track-Baldwin-Wallace sophomore Nicole Smith (Geneva) helped the Yellow Jackets to the team title at the Great Cleveland Championship, winning both the 200-meter dash (27.14) and the 500-meter run (1:20.10)

 Field-Baldwin-Wallace senior Leslie Pernell (Springfield/Catholic Central) helped the Yellow Jackets to the Greater Cleveland Championship title with a win in the shot put (42’6.25’). She also competed at the Kent State Open on Saturday and placed eighth in the shot put (41’9.25’) and seventh in the weight throw with a career-best toss of 55’2.75’ (ranks 13th in Div. III).

Track- Mount Union junior Mary Mahoney (Ashtabula/St. John-St. Paul) bested her own marks with first place finishes in the 200 meters (25.45) and 400 meters (56.51) and set a new school record with a win in the 4x200 meter relay (1:44.38) at the All-Ohio Championships. The Purple Raiders finished first out of 19 teams

Field-Marietta senior Ashley Bault (Atwater/Waterloo) won a pair of events with school records at the All-Ohio Championships last week. Her jump of 5.56m in the long jump eclipsed her previous record of 5.55m. She posted a mark of 11.34m in the triple jump besting her old mark of 11.04m. Bault cleared 1.63m in the high jump to finish second. Bault’s third school record came in the preliminaries of the 60m hurdles. She ran a 9.59 breaking the old record of 9.95 seconds


2.6.12

Track-Mount Union junior Mary Mahoney (Ashtabula/St. John & Paul) led the Purple Raiders at the Mount Union Jim Wuske Invitational with wins in the 200-meter dash (26.52) and 400-meter dash (56.88).

Field-Ohio Northern senior Aubrie Stechschulte (Columbus Grove) won the pole vault with an NCAA provisional mark of 11-5.75, as well as the long jump (16-1) at the ONU Joe Banks Invitational.


1.31.12

Track-Capital sophomore Caitlin Prange (Columbus/Bishop Watterson) helped the Crusaders to a second place finish at the OAC South Split meet last weekend with a win in the 200-meter dash (26.38) and 400-meter dash (59.76). Prange also placed second in the 55-meter dash (7.59) and was a member of the winning 4x200 relay team (1:48.71)

Field-Baldwin-Wallace junior Christina Perrine (Middleburg Hts./Midpark) won both the shot put and weight throw as the Yellow Jackets won the OAC North Split Meet. She won the shot put with a career-best throw of 42-feet and one-half inch (ranks 13th in Division III) and the weight throw with a career-best toss of 54'7.25" (9th in Division III).


1.23.12

Track-Mount Union sophomore Taylor Kring (Salem/West Branch) was a member of the winning 4x400 meter relay team at the SPIRE North Coast Indoor Track & Field Open at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio. The team’s time of 3:58.01 is currently the fifth best in the nation. Kring also placed second in 60 meter hurdles (8.99) and sixth in the 60 meters (8.16).

Field-Marietta sophomore Ashley Bault (Atwater/Waterloo) won a pair of events for the Pioneers at the Marietta Open #2. Bault won both the long jump (5.15m) and the triple jump (10.91m) and place third in the high jump (1.51m). She accounted for 25.5 of team's 133 total points to help lead the Pioneers to second place finish out of nine teams


1.16.12

Track-Marietta senior Corryn Muench (Cold Spring, Ky./Newport Central Catholic) ran a school-record 41.80 to win the 300m dash at the Marietta Open #1. The old record was 41.94 set in 2009. Muench also a member of the 4x400m relay team that finished second in a time of 4:18.20.

Field-Muskingum sophomore Tanisha Ford (Conneaut) won the weight throw at the Marietta Open #1 with a toss of 47.1 ft. to set a new school record, beating her previous mark set in December. Ford went on to also win the shot put with a toss of 37.82 ft.
