Transylvania senior Amanda Skinner (LaGrange/Oldham Co.) led the Pioneers in a 127-94 loss to Oberlin last week. Skinner won both the 200 individual medley (2:17.36) and 100 breast stroke (1:11.35) and placed second in the 100 freestyle (58:09).


10.29.12

Mount Union junior Courtney Gabel (Freemont/Ross) helped the Purple Raiders defeat Defiance 146-52, Malone 138-52, and Hiram 168-120 last weekend. Gabel swam her way to two first place finishes against Defiance and Malone; the 50 free (24.61), and anchored the 200 medley relay. Against Hiram, Gabel took first in 200 free (2:19.96), 50 free (28.07), 100 butterfly (1:10.36), and swam the third leg of the 400 meter medley relay (4:47.75).


11.5.12

Baldwin Wallace senior Julie Pinter (Broadview Heights/ Brecksville-Broadview Hts.) won both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events in dual meets against Oberlin and Hiram, while competing in the Great Cleveland City Championships last week. On Friday against Oberlin, Pinter won the 1-meter event with 270.53 points and the 3-meter with 246.45 points. On Saturday versus Hiram, she won the 1-meter with 276.25 points and reset her own school-record in the 3-meter with 280.13 points.

John Carroll sophomore Tori Watson (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan) led the Blue Streaks against Mount Union, with wins in the 200 free (2:00.00) and 100 free (55.75). Watson was also a member of the winning 200 medley relay team (1:53.10). She also helped guide the Blue Streaks to a 161-133 win over Baldwin Wallace to claim fifth place at the Cleveland Championships. Watson took home first place finishes in the 50 free (26:43), 100 free (56.27) and 400 free (3:51.2).


11.19.21

Baldwin Wallace junior Angela Musille (Canton/GlenOak) won three individual events and led the 400 medley relay team to victory in the Yellow Jackets 172-83 win over Penn State Behrend. Musille won the 100 breaststroke in 1:11.19 and the 200 breaststroke in 2:35.12 and captured the 200 IM in 2:20.00. The 400 medley relay took first with a time of 4:16.34.

Ohio Northern junior Lindsey Rayhill (Springfield, Ill/Glenwood) led the Polar Bears at the Wooster Invitational. Rayhill broke the school record and surpassed the NCAA "B" Cut in the 100 back (57.66). She also finished third in the 100 fly (2:07.03) and was fifth in the 200 I.M. (2:13.22). Rayhill was also part of the 200 and 400 medlay relay teams, as well as the 200 free relay team that finished third, third and seventh respectively.

Mount Union junior Courtney Gable (Springfield, Ill/Glenwood) led the Purple Raider to wins over Ohio Wesleyan and Baldwin-Wallace. Against Ohio Wesleyan, Gabel took first place in the 50 freestyle (24.39), the 100 freestyle (54.33), and was part of the 400 freestyle relay (3:50.78) that finished first. At Baldwin Wallace, Gabel took first place in the 100 butterfly (1:01.87), the 200 freestyle (2:01.28), and was a member of the 200 freestyle relay (1:44.08) that placed first.

Baldwin Wallace junior Angela Musille (Canton/GlenOak) won the 1000-yard freestyle in 11:19.79 and the 500-yard freestyle in 5:30.32 to help the Yellow Jackets defeat both Defiance College and Ursuline College.

Mount Union junior Shelby Mitchell (Stow/Stow-Munroe Falls) helped the Purple Raiders to a 103-101 win over Florida Institute of Technology with three first place finishes. Mitchell won the 50 yard freestyle (26.09), the 100 yard backstroke (1:02.84), and swam the anchor leg in the 200 yard freestyle (1:45.02) relay that finished in first place.

Ohio Northern senior Amy Elmer (South Milwaukee, Wis.) won two events to lead the Polar Bears to a 125-112 victory over Oberlin by sweeping the 1 and 3-meter diving events with scores of 195.70 and 240.45, respectively. Against Mount Union, Elmer won the 1-meter with a career-best 418 points in the 11-dive format. Her point total also qualifies her for the NCAA III Regionals in the event.

Ohio Northern junior Lindsey Rayhill (Springfield, Ill/Glenwood) was part of the 200 medley relay team that took first place with a time of 1:55.16 and won the 100 butterfly in 1:00.31 at No. 3 Kenyon. On Saturday, Rayhill won three events as the Polar Bears defeated Baldwin Wallace 190-103 to clinch a share of the OAC Regular Season title. Rayhill won the 200 butterfly in 2:15.38 and brought home first place in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:00.52. She was also part of the winning 200 medley relay (1:55.52).

Baldwin Wallace senior Julie Pinter (Broadview Hts./Brecksville-Broadview Hts.) captured both the one-meter voluntary (197.95 points)and one-meter optional events (275.65 points) in a dual meet against John Carroll last Saturday. Pinter ended her OAC career undefeated in both the one-meter and three-meter events.



Mount Union junior Courtney Gable (Freemont/Freemont Ross) led the Purple Raiders at Westminster with four first place finishes. Gable finished first in the 50 free (24.83), 100 free (55.67), 200 free (2:01.04) and swam breaststroke in the 200 medley relay (1:53.42).
