Petrella went 6-0 at NWCA Nationals duals to help the No. 5 Yellow Jackets to a fifth place finish.  He opened with a pin (1:58) over Darian Diaz of Dubuque.  Petrella then won a won a 6-1 decision over No. 4 nationally ranked Jake Burford of Wisconsin-Whitewater, posted a pin (5:50) over Kristian Rumph of Wartburg, won by pinfall (2:39) over Clayton McDonough of Luther, recorded a victory by injury default over No. 5 nationally ranked Javen Estrada of North Central and closed out the duals with a 15-2 major decision over Reis Ginter of Loras.
