John Carroll sophomore forward Katlyn Spahar (Willowick/Lake Catholic) averaged 21 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 3.5 steals-per-game to led the Blue Steaks to a 2-0 record at the College of Wooster Nan Nichols Classic with wins over Kalamazoo and Adrian. In a 58-57 win over Kalamzoo, Spahar scored the winning point on a free-throw and sealed the game with a steal with two second left.

Wilmington sophomore post Mary Moyer (Martinsville/Clinton-Massie) averaged 22.5 points, seven rebounds, 1.5 assists and two steals-per-game to led the Quakers to wins over Penn State Behrend and Ohio Wesleyan. Moyer shot 18-of-36 from the field (.500) and nine of-12 from the free-throw line (.667).

John Carroll senior forward Beth Switzler (Eastlake/Lake Catholic) led the Blue Streak to a 2-0 record last week, averaging 18 points and 8.5 rebounds-per-game.  Switzler shot 16-of-25 from the field and three-of-four from the free-throw line. She tallied 28 points and 11 rebounds in a win over previously unbeaten #16 Ithaca.

Ohio Northern senior forward Jordan Kimes (Lexington/Northmor) led the Polar Bear’s to a 2-0 record last week with wins over John Carroll and Otterbein. Kimes had a game-high 18 points with nine rebounds and two blocks against previously unbeaten John Carroll. Twelve of her 18 points came in the second half. Against Otterbein, Kimes recorded her second double -double of the season with 15 points and 11 rebounds. She also had a game-high eight blocks. On the week, Kimes shot 13-of-24 from the field, including two-of-three from three-point range and five-of-eight from the free-throw line.
