Mount Union Picked to Win OAC Men's Indoor Track & Field Title

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Mount Union has been tabbed as the favorite to win the 2025 Ohio Athletic Conference men's indoor track & field title, as voted on by the league coaches.

In preseason voting, Mount Union tallied 81 points (nine first-place votes), followed by John Carroll with 71 points (one first-place vote), Ohio Northern with 66 points, Baldwin Wallace with 56 and Otterbein with 51 points.

The Purple Raiders are coming off another successful season in 2024, where they won a 12th straight and 43rd overall Ohio Athletic Conference Championship. The 4x400-meter Relay group secured a National Title at last year's Division III Indoor Track and Field Championship. They won the title with a time of 3:11.52, setting both a school and meet record and achieving the fourth-fastest time in Division III history.

Key returners include the Distance Medley Relay team that ran at nationals in seniors Curtis Joppeck, Mason Kutz and Vincent Giumenti, as well as other key members in Alex Reese, Josh Fouche and Haden Gibson.

The Purple Raiders are led by head coach Kevin Lucas, who is in his 15th-year at Mount Union. Next on the schedule for the Raiders is the Jud Logan Memorial Meet at Kent State University on Saturday, January 18.
