John Carroll sophomore Jonathon Radney (Columbus/St. Charles Prep) broke two school records at the Kent State Tune Up. In the 60-meter dash, Radney had to compete in a qualifying round, and placed third in his heat with a time of 7.19 seconds. He would cut the time to 7.083 to take eight in the preliminaries, advancing to the finals. In the final, Radney would take fifth with a school record time of 7.052 seconds. The time set a school record, breaking Mike Minjock's mark of 7.08 set in 2013. Radney would later take 12th in the 200-meter dash, crossing the line at 22.57 seconds, which is one of the top 50 times this season at the Division III level. The time broke the school record of 22.70
Wilmington senior Jake Simpkins (Germantown/Valley View) set two school records at Ohio State and Capital. At Ohio State, Simpkins completed the mile in 4:18.01, eclipsing the previous mark by three seconds. At the Capital Classic on Saturday, Simpkins established a new mark in the 1,000 (2:33.03).
