2014 Past OAC Soccer Players of the Week

10.27.14

John Carroll senior midfielder Brian Potocnik (Aurora) scored three goals and recorded two assists last week to help the Blue Streaks to a 2-0 record. Potocnik scored the game-winning goal and added an assist in a 4-1 win over Baldwin Wallace on Tuesday. On Wednesday, he scored two goals and assisted on another in a 3-2 win at Capital that clinched the OAC Regular-Season title. This is the second consecutive week Potocnik has earned this honor.

John Carroll senior midfielder Brian Potocnik (Aurora) scored two goals, including the game winner in a 3-0 win at Marietta and then assisted on both goals in a 2-1 win at Heidelberg. Potocnik lead the OAC in goals (13), assists (10) and points (36). Potocnik has earned player of the week for the second consecutive week.

John Carroll senior midfielder Brian Potocnik (Aurora) tallied ten points to lead the Blue Streak to a 2-0 record on the week.  Potocnik scored two goals in a 5-4 double overtime win at Otterbein. He then recorded his second career hat trick in a 4-1 win over Wilmington.  Potocnik currently leads the OAC in goals, assists and points.

Capital senior midfielder R.G. Florey (Westerville/Westerville South) tallied two goals and one assist to help lead the Crusaders to a 2-0 record last week. Florey scored the first goal and assisted on the game-winner in a 2-1 win over nationally ranked Ohio Wesleyan. He scored the second goal in a 2-0 win against Mount Union.

Otterbein senior forward Jared Pulliam (Westerville/North) tallied three goals last week to help lead the Cardinals to a 2-0 record. Pulliam scored the first goal in a 4-2 win over Mt. St. Joseph and then scored twice, including the game-winner, in a 3-1 win at Earlham.

Otterbein junior forward Reid Wolfe (Pataskala/Watkins Memorial) scored the first goal and assisted on the other two in a 3-2 come from behind overtime win at #16 Hiram. Wolfe also scored a second-half goal in a 3-1 road victory at Oberlin.

Ohio Northern sophomore midfield Patrick Sabol (Lancaster) scored two goals and added one assist to help the Polar Bears to a 2-1 record last week. Sabol scored the game winning goal in the 85th minute to lead ONU past Kalamazoo.

Muskingum junior forward Brett Hanna (Columbus/Worthington Kilbourne) led the Muskies to a 2-0 record last week, tallying three goals and one assists on just seven shots. Hanna notched the game-winning goal in a 2-1 victory over Mount St. Joseph.

Marietta senior forward Wes Riley (Marietta) led the Pioneers to a 2-0 record and the Marietta Soccer Classic title. Riley scored both goals in a 2-1 win over Piedmont (GA) and added another two goals in a 3-0 win over Wooster.
