2013 Past Players of the Week

9.3.13

Otterbein junior forward Jared Pulliam (Pickerington/North) scored four goals last week to help the Cardinals to a 2-0 start on the season. Pulliam posted Otterbein's first goal of the season in a 6-2 win over Saint Vincent College and then tallied a hat trick in the team's 12-0 win over Penn State-Beaver.

Muskingum freshman forward Andreas Pfefferkorn (Deggendorf, Germany) scored four goals on the week, including two game-winning points to help lead the Muskies past the College of Wooster, 2-1 and Manhattanville College, 4-0.

Ohio Northern freshman forward Matt Kinkopf (Hamilton/Cincinnati Christian) scored a goal in all three of the Polar Bear victories last week and assisted on the game winning goal in double overtime against Albion. ONU finished the week with a 3-0 record.

Marietta junior forward Wes Riley (Marietta)scored four goals on just seven shots to lead the Pioneers to a pair of wins last week. Riley scored two goals and assisted on the game-winning goal in a 3-2 at Bethany. He then tallied two goals, including the game-winner in a 4-1 win at LaRoche.

John Carroll junior midfielder Brian Potocnik (Auroa) recorded his first career hat trick in a 6-2 win over Rochester, who had a 7-1 record entering the match. Potocnik also scored the lone goal in a 2-1 loss at regionally ranked Case Western.

John Carroll junior midfielder Brian Potocnik (Auroa) posted three goals last week to help the Blue Streaks to a 2-1 win over Capital and a 6-0 win over Geneva. Potocnik has scored a goal in five consecutive games and is the first JCU player to accomplish this feat since 2006.

Mount Union senior forward Thomas Beck (Poland/Cardinal Mooney) posted four goals to help the Purple Raiders to a 2-0 record last week. Beck scored two goals in each of the Purple Raiders’ wins against Marietta and Wilmington.

Ohio Northern freshman forward Matt Kinkopf (Hamilton/Cincinnati Christian) finished the week with three goals to help the Polar Bears to a 2-0 record. Kinkopf scored at the 101:06 mark of the second overtime to led ONU to a 3-2 victory against Otterbein. Kinkopf also scored two goals in 6-1 win at Marietta.

Ohio Northern senior midfielder Stephen Perkins (Findlay) helped the Polar Bears to a 2-0 record last week with three goals and one assist. Perkins recorded his first career hat trick that included the game-winner in 5-4 overtime win against Heidelberg.

Capital sophomore defender Hunter Booth (Liberty Twp./Lakota East) scored the game-winning goal in the 65th minute of a 1-0 win over Muskingum to help the Crusaders secure the No. 4 seed in the OAC Tournament.
