JCU's Luke Chicone Named All-American by D3Hoops.com and NABC

John Carroll junior point guard Luke Chicone has been named a second-team All-American by D3Hoops.com and the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC).

This is the first time in program history that a Blue Streak claimed D3hoops.com All-American honors, and just the third time in history for the NABC honor.

Chicone led John Carroll to Ohio Athletic Conference Regular Season and Tournament Championships, as well as a 17th NCAA Tournament appearance. This season, Chicone finished second in the conference for points per game (18.75), assists per game (5.2) and steals per game (2.24). He also finished amongst the best in Division III with an assist/turnover ratio of 3.17.

This season, Chicone has also received the OAC Player of the Year award, First Team All-OAC, OAC All-Tournament Team, First Team NABC All-District and First Team D3hoops.com All-Region honoree. Chicone is also a top-25 finalist for the Bevo Francis Award, presented annually to the player who has had the finest overall season within Small College Basketball. The finalists will be announced April 5, and the winner April 8.
