Edwards led the No. 17 Pioneers to a perfect 3-0 record to start the season off at the Hoopsville Invitational, including a win over No. 2 ranked Christopher Newport University. For the week, Edwards averaged 18.3 points and 8.0 rebounds per game. He shot 22-of-38 (57.9%) from the floor and f4-of-10 (40.0%) from three-point range. He notech a double-double in a win over La Roche with 24 points and ten rebounds. He earned all-tournament honors for his efforts.
