Little Rock, AR – December 18, 2024 – The Cliff Harris Award and Little Rock Touchdown Club, in partnership with D3football.com, proudly announces the finalists for the 2024 Cliff Harris Award for NCAA Division III. Mount Union senior DE Rossy Moore was one of six finalists for this award. The Cliff Harris Award recognizes the top small college defensive player in the country in NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA. This award highlights exceptional talent and contributions to the game by athletes who have made a significant impact on their teams.
The NCAA Division III finalists are:
Jacquez Mabin - DE – Delaware Valley
Dawson Dietz - DT - Washington & Jefferson
Charlie Patterson - LB - Hardin-Simmons
Rossy Moore - DE - Mount Union
John Sullivan - DT - North Central
Matt Jung - S - Bethel
Moore, earning his second career AFCA All-America honor this year and D3Football.com Defensive Player of the Year for his region three years in a row, is second in the school's record book for career sacks (35.5) and career tackles for loss (65.5). Moore has 20 TFLs this season 11 sacks. Moore added to his career achievements against John Carroll in the NCAA Second Round with his first career touchdown (a 31-yard fumble return). Moore recently earned his third-straight All-OAC First Team selection.
The winner of the 2024 Cliff Harris Award for NCAA Division III is selected by the staff at D3football.com, the nation’s leading authority on Division III football. The writers and staff at D3football.com select the winner from the 6 Defensive Player of the Year honorees from all six regions. The winner will be announced during the D3football.com broadcast of the National Championship game on January 5, 2025.
