Westerville, Ohio - Mount Union, under the direction of third-year Head Coach Geoff Dartt, was picked to win the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) football title in 2022 by the League coaches.
Mount Union received nine of 10 first place votes to collect 81 points, followed by Baldwin Wallace with 71 points and one first place vote. Heidelberg finished third with 65 points, followed by John Carroll with 59 points and Marietta with 44 points. Head coaches do not vote for their own teams in the balloting.
The Purple Raiders will look to contend for their 33rd OAC crown, 31st undefeated regular season and a 14th NCAA Division III national championship.
The Raiders will open the 2022 season at home on Saturday, September 3 against Defiance in a non-conference matchup. Kickoff is set for 1:30 p.m.
