Offense-Capital sophomore quarterback Chase Longwell (Hilliard/Hilliard Darby) totaled 362 yards of total offense and five touchdowns to lead the Crusaders to a 54-20 win over Earlham College (Ind.). Longwell passed for 198 yards and was eight-of-18 with three touchdowns. He rushed for 164 yards with touchdown runs of eight and 56 yards. Longwell helped the Crusaders set new program records in team rushing yards (537) and total offense (735 yards). The rushing yards stood for over 50 years when the 1963 team put together 510 yards against Kenyon College in a single game.
