CLEVELAND, Ohio - Four Ohio Athletic Conference institutions appeared in the fall update of the 2023-24 Division III LEARFIELD Directors' Cup standings. John Carroll led the OAC, ranking 21st among 182 institutions receiving points.

The LEARFIELD Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in NCAA Championships in up to 18 sports across the fall, winter and spring seasons.

John Carroll finished the fall season earning 208.5 points in the LEARFIELD Directors' Cup standings. The Blue Streak men won the OAC Cross Country Championships for the third straight year, finished second in the football standings, and men's soccer advanced the OAC Tournament semifinals as the No. 4 seed. The John Carroll women cliniched both women's soccer regular-season and tournament titles, and finished their historical season in the elite eight of the NCAA women's soccer championship. The women's cross country team won its fourth straight OAC cross country title.

Mount Union landed 39th in the Learfield standings, earning 127 points from their fall efforts. The Purple Raiders won the OAC Football Regular-Season title for the 34th time (32nd undefeated season) and made a run in the NCAA tournament. Both cross country teams placed third at the OAC cross country championships, and men's soccer concluded the season in the OAC Tournament semifinals as the No. 3 seed.

Ohio Northern earned 64 points solely from the men's soccer program. After winning the Ohio Athletic Conference regular season championship, the Polar Bears advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Division III Tournament and finished the season 13-4-5.

Otterbein rounded out the conference in the fall LEARFIELD Directors' Cup standings, earning 25 points from both men's soccer, who won the OAC regular season title, and the volleyball team who went undefeated in the conference, winning both the regular season and the conference tournament.

Johns Hopkins currently leads all Division III schools with 459.0 points, while Middlebury is in second with 331.0 points and SUNY Cortland is in third with 324 points. The winter standings will begin distribution on Thursday, March 28.
