Cross Country | Results

Women’s Team Champion: John Carroll

  • The John Carroll women’s cross country team won their third straight Ohio Athletic Conference title, finishing with a score of 36. Second place Ohio Northern finished with a score of 67.
  • Junior Erica Esper led the way for John Carroll, finishing in third place with a time of 22:52.0. Last season, Esper finished in sixth place with a time of 23:47.0, making this her second-consecutive year finishing in the top ten.
  • Other top-ten John Carroll runners were freshman Abby Schroff (6th, 23:21.2), senior Cameron Bujaucius (8th, 23:37.9), sophomore Sarah Weldon (9th, 23:40.0), and junior Jennifer Massucci (10th, 23:43.3).

Women’s Individual Champion: Macy McAdams, Muskingum

  • Muskingum graduate senior Macy McAdams finished the 6K Ohio Athletic Conference championship race with a time of 22:29.6, taking first place out of 113 runners.
  • McAdams becomes the first Muskingum runner to win the championship race since 1991.

Men’s Team Champion: John Carroll

  • The John Carroll men’s cross country team won their second straight Ohio Athletic Conference title, finishing with a score of 40. Second place Otterbein finished with a score of 70.
  • Sophomore Barrett Scheatzle finished in seventh place with a time of 26:12.5, placing in the top 10 for the second-consecutive year.
  • Junior Ethan Domitrovich placed ninth with a time of 26:29.1.

Men’s Individual Champion: Alex Phillip, John Carroll

  • The Blue Streaks were led by Alex Phillip, reclaiming the Ohio Athletic Conference title from last year as he placed first with a time of 25:06.2.
  • Phillip, who also won the 2021 NCAA Division III Cross Country Championship last season, became the first two-time OAC cross country championship winner in program history.

 

Volleyball | Box Score

  • The Ohio Athletic Conference regular-season champions and No. 1 seed Otterbein defeated No. 2 seed John Carroll, taking the 2022 OAC tournament championship crown.
  • Otterbein won in three straight sets (25-16, 25-21, 25-22), winning its fourth OAC tournament chamionship in the last 10 years.
  • Otterbein senior Carlie Craycraft had a double-double with 44 assists and 11 digs, and surpassed 4,200 career assists, topping the former all-time program assist record of 4,179.
  • Otterbein Senior Amber Greeley went 16-0-22, finishing with a .727 hitting percentage.
  • Otterbein Sophomore Amanda Troyer finished with 15 digs and 4 aces, while junior Morgan Hartman had 19 kills and 11 digs.
  • John Carroll was led by junior Jennifer Follmer and sophomore Jessica Liddle, each recording 10 kills, and junior Lexi MacDonald led all players with 21 digs.

 

Women’s Soccer | Box Score

  • The Ohio Northern women's soccer team earned its second straight Ohio Athletic Conference tournament championship, defeating top seeded Capital 1-0.
  • Ohio Northern has won four OAC Tournament titles in the past six seasons. This is the first time in program history that the Polar Bears have won titles in back-to-back seasons.
  • The game was scoreless in the first half, with each team having five shots on goal.
  • The Polar Bears scored at the 60:51 mark, when junior Jill Roberts landed the ball in the back corner of the net, assisted by senior Kylie Brown.
  • Capital finished the game with an 11-8 edge in shots while Ohio Northern had a 6-2 edge in corner kicks.
  • Capital senior Avery Hart led all players with four shots.
  • Ohio Northern senior Goalkeeper Becky Moss finished the game with six saves.

 

Men’s Soccer | Box Score

  • The John Carroll men’s soccer team won the 2022 Ohio Athletic Conference tournament championship, defeating fourth seed Wilmington 4-1.
  • The Blue Streaks won their fifth straight conference tournament championship, and 11th overall.
  • John Carroll took the lead early as sophomore Logan Penton scored at the 9:24 mark, followed by a goal ten minutes later by junior Ben Brucken, assisted by senior Nicholas Ruggiero.
  • Wilmington responded with 1:11 left in the first half with a goal from sophomore Nick In’tZand.
  • The Blue streaks had two more goals in the second half, first by junior Patrick Koenig. Sophomore Jack Foht scored the final goal of the night to give the Blue Streaks the 4-1 victory.
  • John Carroll had a 19-14 advantage in shots, and Wilmington had five corner kicks and didn’t allow any from John Carroll.
  • Wilmington freshman goalkeeper Thomas Grimes faced seven shots and had three saves, and John Carroll junior goalkeeper Jake Vogrin faced two shots and made two saves.
