WESTERVILLE, Ohio — Following the 2024-25 winter sports season of men's and women's basketball, men's and women's indoor track & field, men's and women's swimming & diving and wrestling, Mount Union continues to lead the Tim Gleason All-Sports Trophy standings for the men and John Carroll keeps its lead for the women's trophy.
Mount Union accumulated 27.00 total points on the men’s side during the winter sports season. The Purple Raiders won its 13th-consecutive indoor track & field title. Graduate Student Vincent Giumenti picked up the OAC Outstanding Distance Runner of the Meet as he won the Mile and the 1,000 Meter in times of 4:11.82 and 2:31.08. The Purple Raider men's basketball team finished second in the conference standings and in the conference tournament with a record of 14-4 and 18-9 overall. The Mount Union wrestling team finished the season 3-3 in the OAC, and had five earn All-Region honorees at the NCAA wrestling regionals. Senior Bryce McCloskey will compete in the DIII Wrestling National Championships today and tomorrow in Providence, Rhode Island at the Amica Mutual Pavilion. Additionally, the Purple Raider men's swimming & diving team posted a third-place finish at the OAC Championships.
John Carroll currently stands second in the men's All-Sports standings with 55.50 total points, benefitting from a second-straight Ohio Athletic Conference men's basketball regular season and tournament title and a ninth-straight swimming & diving title. The men's indoor track & field team and the wrestling team each has one student-athlete who will compete in the upcoming NCAA championships. Ohio Northern is in third place in the All-Sports standings with 47.00 points. Baldwin Wallace and Otterbein round out the top five with 38.00 and 32.50 points, respectively.
On the women’s side, John Carroll collected 21.50 points during the winter season, highlighted by a ninth-straight swimming & diving title. The Blue Streaks broke two OAC records, had one NCAA B cut time and one NCAA B cut diving score, while junior Mairin Dalziel was named OAC Women's Swimmer of the Year. Additionally, the Blue Streaks finished in third place at the OAC indoor track & field championships and third in the women's basketball standings.
Ohio Northern stands in second place in the All-Sports Trophy Standings with 45.75 points. The Polar Bear Women's Basketball team finished in second place in the OAC standings and finished as runners-up in the conference tournament. The Indoor Track & Field team finished in second place at the OAC Indoor meet and Izzy Burman was named the Most Outstanding Field Athlete of the Meet. The Polar Bears have three women's track & field athletes competing in this weekend's NCAA Championships. The women's swimming & diving team finished in fourth place at the OAC swimming & diving championships.
The Mount Union and Baldwin Wallace women are tied for third in the All-Sports standings with 34.50 points each, while Otterbein rounds out the top five with 32.00 points.
Following the spring sports season, the 2024-25 Men's and Women's Tim Gleason All-Sports Trophy champions will be announced at the OAC Clyde A. Lamb Awards banquet on Monday, May 12, 2025 in Westerville.
