WESTERVILLE, Ohio — Following an exciting 2022 Fall ensemble of cross country, football, soccer and volleyball, John Carroll University is currently leading the 2022-23 Tim Gleason All-Sports Trophy standings for both men and women.
John Carroll accumulated 28.00 total points on the men's side during the fall sports season. The Blue Streaks won a fifth straight Ohio Athletic Conference Championship in men's soccer. The men's cross country team won the OAC championship race for the second year in a row, and Alex Phillip placed first and became the first two-time OAC cross country championship winner in history. Phillips then went on to win the NCAA Division III National Champion for the second year in a row.
Mount Union currently stands second with 23.00 points, earning 10.00 points in football following a 14-1 season and an impressive run to the Stagg Bowl, finishing national runners-up. Ohio Northern lands in third with 20.00 points. Otterbein and Wilmington round out the top five with 19.0 and 18.0 points, respectively.
On the women's side, John Carroll collected 26.00 total points, benefitting from a third straight women's cross country Ohio Athletic Conference title and a second-place finish by volleyball in the regular season and in the OAC tournament. Ohio Northern ends the fall season with 25.50 points. The polar bear women's soccer earned its second straight Ohio Athletic Conference tournament championship, its fourth in the past six seasons. Additionally, Tessa Pitcovich finished second in the OAC women's cross country race and advanced to the NCAA division III national championship race.
Otterbein lands third in the women's standings with 23.00 points, benefitting from 10.00 points from the volleyball team as OAC regular season and conference tournament champions. Mount Union and Baldwin Wallace rounded out the top five with 18.50 and 16.50 points, respectively.
