Greeley Named GameChanger/AVCA National Player of the Week

LEXINGTON, Ky . – Following a dominant week of action, Otterbein University senior Amber Greeley has been named the AVCA/GameChanger Division III National Player of the Week by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.

Greeley (Lima/Shawnee) becomes the first Cardinal to ever receive this honor after her efforts sparked Otterbein in a pair of postseason home matches in the Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament. The 6-foot-3 right side delivered a pair of staggering hitting performances to help her squad win the program's fourth title in the last decade.

Her stretch began on Thursday in a semifinal matchup vs. Marietta, posting a career-high 21 kills en route to an offensive line of 21-3-47 (.383) as the Cardinals won in four sets. She caught fire midway through the third frame, with her team trailing, by ripping off multiple kills to help Otterbein regain an edge.

Greeley then turned around to contribute a standout performance Saturday afternoon in the OAC Champion, where the Cardinals swept John Carroll to complete a regular season/tournament sweep. "Big Country" was clean on the day in going 16-0-22 (.727), marking the fifth-best percentage for a single match in program history. She also posted a career-high six digs to keep some long and frantic rallies alive.

For the week, Greeley hit a combined 37-3-69 for a .493 overall percentage. Those efforts also helped her senior classmate, Carlie Craycraft, become Otterbein's all-time leader in career assists at more than 4,200… and counting.

Greeley, recently named first team All-OAC to become a 3x selection overall, led the entire league in hitting percentage this fall. She currently holds a .381 clip and has posted double-digit kills in 11 of the last 13 matches. In the two occasions she didn't, her total rested at nine.

Otterbein hit a season-best .391 collectively in the title match against John Carroll, which advanced the team into the upcoming NCAA Championships for a third-straight time. The Cardinals will open the national bracket this coming Thursday against Wisconsin-Oshkosh in Grand Rapids, Mich.
