ADA, Ohio—The Mount Union women's track and field team won its 4th straight and 11th overall Ohio Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field title Saturday afternoon at Ohio Northern University.
Mount Union took home the team title with 188.83 points 15.83 points ahead of second place and host Ohio Northern which had 173 points.
Kevin Lucas and his staff were awarded the OAC Women's Indoor Track and Field Staff of the Year.
Mary Mason set the OAC Meet record and was the OAC Champion in the 800-Meters running a 2:13.60 while her teammate
Halle Cochran finished with All-OAC honors in third with a time of 2:19.35.
Mason and Cochran teamed up with
Callie Cyrus and
Taylor Hennessey to become OAC Champions in the 4x400-Meter relay with a time of 3:59.94.
Meghan Schwartz was the OAC Champion in the 1,000-Meters for Mount Union running a 3:03.42.
Madeline Burgess was the OAC Runner-up in the triple jump with a leap of 36-feet .75-inches.
The quartet of
Madison Miles, Rylie Haynes,
Melanie Plecko and
Paula Incorvati earned OAC runner-up in the 4x200-Meter Relay with a time of 1:44.80.
Ashley Cockrell earned All-OAC honors with a third-place finish in the 60-Meter hurdles with a time of 9.30 as four Purple Raiders finished top seven in the race.
Makayla Sitzlar took home third place in the shot put with a toss of 42-feet 8.25-inches earning All-OAC honors.
Gianini Venuto earned OAC runner-up in the 3,000-Meters with a time of 10:22.15 and finished fifth in the mile as well.
Natasha Zahursky,
Savannah Jones and
Paige Klingensmith placed fourth, fifth, and seventh in the 60-Meter hurdles for Mount Union.
Miles also placed fourth in the 200-Meters for the Raiders.
Hennessey and
Marah Bethel placed seventh and eighth in the 800-Meters.
Kenna Johnston and
Buzz Kline brought home seventh and eighth in the shot put.
Megan Mahaffey earned seventh and
Makenna Oszust tied for eighth in the high jumpe.
Jasmine Arnold took home seventh for Mount Union in the 3,000-Meters.
Lily Polk finished seventh in the triple jump.
Incorvati also placed eighth in the 60-Meter dash for the Raiders.
Mount Union will now compete in the last chance meet hosted by Ohio Northern next Friday and Saturday in Ada.
