ALLIANCE, Ohio---Graduate student Kenadee Wayt (Wheeling, W. Va. / Wheeling Central Catholic) is the recipient of the Elite 90 award for the 2024 NCAA Division III women's Indoor Track and Field Championship.
 
Wayt just recently completed undergrad with a 4.0 GPA in Biology with 128 credits and currently is in grad school completing the Physician Assistant Studies degree. She was presented with the award after her three events on day one of the NCAA Championships in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This is the second time winning the award as she won last years Elite 90 2023 Outdoor Track and Field Championship.
 
Wayt looks to add more NCAA titles to her name as last year she won the indoor and outdoor 200-Meters along with the 400-Meters. She is currently a 15-time All-American which is the most on the women's side in Mount Union history and closing in on Shawn Watson, who has 18 All-American's, as the top All-American in Mount Union history.
 
Wayt currently has 12 school records and two national records to her name as well.
 
The Elite 90, an award founded by the NCAA, recognizes the true essence of the student-athlete by honoring the individual who has reached the pinnacle of competition at the national championship level in his or her sport, while also achieving the highest academic standard among his or her peers. The Elite 90 is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average participating at the finals site for each of the NCAA's championships.
 
Eligible student-athletes are sophomores or above academically who have participated in a sport for at least two years with their school. All ties are broken by the number of credits completed.
