Wayt Wins Two Titles While Grabbing Four All-Americans At The 2023 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships

PITTSFORD, New York—Senior Kenadee Wayt (Wheeling, W. Va. / Wheeling Central Catholic) had a day for the ages racing to two national championship titles, two school record and four All-American awards at the final day of the NCAA Track and Field Championships hosted by St. John Fisher.
 
Before the weekend Wayt already had the most All-American awards in Mount Union women's track and field history and with her two victories today she became the leader in championships won at the Track and Field Championship for the women's track and field team.
 
Wayt began her day finishing eighth in the 4x100-Meter relay, she then took the victory in the 400-Meters leading from the gun in a time of 54.33. Wayt came back just over an hour later and found the speed again this time going under 24 seconds in the 200-Meters winning in a school record time of 23.95. The final event of the day for Wayt was the 4x400-Meter relay where Wayt helped the Purple Raiders to a third-place finish in a school record 3:42.50.
 
Senior Kennady Gibbins (Navarre / Fairless), junior Madison Miles (Padua / Padua Franciscan) and sophomore Mary Mason (Alliance / Marlington) joined Wayt and flew around the track on the 4x400-Meter relay in the school record 3:42.50.
 
Wayt, Gibbins and Miles combined with junior Lauren Roncone (North Canton / Hoover) to finish eighth in the 4x100-Meter relay.
 
Senior Brit McCauley (Ontario) finished her career in the 1,500-Meters in a 10th place finish with a time of 4:34.76.
 
Mount Union finished seventh overall in the team scores with 27 points as Wisconsin La Crosse won the meet with a score of 67.5 points.
