Women's Track and Field: Raiders Win Third Straight and 11th Overall OAC Outdoor Track and Field Championship

ALLIANCE, Ohio -- Mount Union's women's track and field team won its third straight and 11th overall OAC outdoor track championship Friday at home in Kehres Stadium.
 
The Purple Raiders finished with 213 points 30 ahead of second place John Carroll.
 
Senior Kenadee Wayt (Wheeling, W. Va. / Wheeling Central Catholic) won the most outstanding sprinter of the year winning the 100-meters, 200-meters, and part of the 4x100 and 400-Meter relay winning team with three marks in the top 9 of the nation.
 
Wayt won the 100-meters in a time of 11.83 which is an OAC Meet record, but Wayt bested that in the prelims with a 11.79 good for seventh in the nation. Wayt then came back and won the 200-meters in 24.04 good for an OAC meet record, school record, and the top time in the nation currently.
 
Wayt came back in the 4x100-Meter relay with juniors Lauren Roncone (North Canton / Hoover), Madison Miles (Padua / Padua Franciscan) and senior Carlie Pratt () winning with a 47.24 which is ninth in the nation. Wayt finished off the day with Miles and seniors Taylor Cupp (Geneva) and Julia Henderson (Twinsburg) winning the 4x400-Meter relay with a time of 3:55.08.
 
Miles also picked up a victory in the 400-Meter dash running a 55.58 which is currently sixth in Division III while also finishing runner-up in the 200-Meters with a 24.93.
 
Senior Kennady Gibbins (Navarre / Fairless) won the 100 and 400-Meter hurdles with times of 14.59 and 1:04.62.
 
Picking up All-OAC honors was senior Brit McCauley (Ontario) finished runner-up in the 1500-meter run running 4:42.46, sophomore Mary Mason (Alliance / Marlington) in the 800-Meters finishing third with a 2:16.44 and freshman Kenna Johnston (Bay Village) took third in the shot put with a heave of 40-feet 1.5-inches.
