Lauren O'Malley Selected To 2018-19 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Women’s At-Large First Team

Senior women's tennis Lauren O'Malley has been voted on to the 2018-19 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Women's At-Large Team as selected by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

O'Malley was named to the Division III District VII First Team.

District VII is comprised of the Division III institutions from the states of Illnois, Indiana and Ohio.

At-Large teams are made up of the following sports:  Beach Volleyball, Bowling, Crew/Rowing, Fencing, Field Hockey, Golf, Gymnastics, Ice Hockey, Lacrosse, Rifle, Skiing, Swimming & Diving, Tennis and Water Polo

O'Malley is an Early Childhood Education major who carries a 4.00 grade point average. A four-year letterwinner for the John Carroll women's tennis team, she has earned OAC Player of the Year four times, All-OAC first team accolades four times and OAC Player of the Week ten times. In singles play, O'Malley never lost a set to a conference opponent, building a career record that currently stands at 108-8.

Nationally, O'Malley has qualified for four NCAA Division III Championship tournaments and has earned ITA Division III All-American honors three times. She was the 2018 ITA Central region champion, a 2018 ITA Cup finalist, and the 2018 ITA Cup Sportsmanship Award recipient.

O'Malley has earned Dean's List status seven times, was the Presidential Scholarship Award recipient, and has earned both Academic All-American and All-District honors in 2018. She was a 2018 ITA Scholar Athlete and a three-time Academic All-OAC honoree.

Off the court, O'Malley was the 2018-19 Vice President of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee, did service with Labre, and volunteered at both Rainbow Babies Hospital and Gearity Elementary School.

As a team with O'Malley as a #1 singles and doubles player the last four years, John Carroll won four OAC titles, appeared in four NCAA Division III Championship tournaments and compiled a record of 65-27 overall and 32-0 in conference regular season play.

By virtue of earning first team all-district, O'Malley advances to the national ballot.
