Bethany Snider Named Women's Lacrosse Head Coach

ALLIANCE, Ohio – Bethany Snider has been named the head coach for women's lacrosse at the University of Mount Union.
 
"It's a true honor to have been selected as the next head Women's lacrosse coach here at Mount Union." Snider commented, "I can't thank Mike Parnell and the search committee enough for this opportunity to come back and lead a program that gave so much to me."
 
Snider, a native of Pittsburgh, Pa., joins the Purple Raiders after spending time at NCAA Division I Robert Morris as the Associate Head Coach.
 
Snider was a member of the Purple Raiders team that advanced to the NCAA Regional Semifinals.
 
"We feel very fortunate given the timing of this search to have found such an excellent coach to assume the leadership of our women's lacrosse program." Athletic Director Mike Parnell said, "Bethany's connection to Mount Union as former player sets the tone for the continuation of the winning tradition that has been established."
 
Snider is a 2016 graduate of the University of Mount Union , where she earned two Bachelor of Art degrees in International Business and Japanese.
 
"Coach Fisher laid an incredible foundation to build upon and I'm looking forward to continuing many traditions while creating some of my own." Snider said, "I want to thank Katrina Silva, Shea Swartwout, and those at Robert Morris for their support and hand in my development. Coach Silva's mentorship has been invaluable to me."
 
Prior to being at Robert Morris Snider was at Westminster (Pa.) as the Head Coach. In her three seasons with the Titans, she had four players earn All-Presidents Athletic Conference (PAC) honors, led by midfielder Stephanie Cimini. Under the direction of Snider, Cimini earned All-PAC accolades for two consecutive seasons while posting a career high 32 goals and leading the conference in caused turnovers.
 
"Another thank you to my family, previous teammates, and other coaches that have supported me throughout this journey," Snider finished with.
 
Prior to Mount Union, Snider began her career at Thiel College, where she helped the Tomcats win the 2013 PAC Women's Lacrosse Championship. Snider earned Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-Region honors as she was selected to the All-West Region Second Team as a freshman.
 
Snider also owns experience in club coaching as she serves as the 2024 Head Coach and Director of Member Management for the Pittsburgh Premier Lacrosse Club (PPLC)
 
Snider's official start will be on March 1st. Mount Union will have its home opener against Hope College at 7 p.m.
