BW's Russell and Capital's Named to CoSIDA Academic All-District Women's At-large Team

Baldwin Wallace senior Maddie Russell (Lakewood/Rocky River) and Capital junior Kara Hines (Columbus, Ohio/Worthington Kilbourne) have been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) District 7 All-District At-Large Team. Both now is qualified for the CoSIDA Division III All-America ballot.


Russell is pre-med and chemistry double major with a 3.97 GPA. She became the first women's lacrosse player in OAC history to earn first-team honors in all four years and was named the OAC midfielder of the Year. This season, Russell led the team in goals (38), ground balls (73), draw controls (56), caused turnovers (35) and free-positon goals (10) and was second on the team in points with 52 and tied for third in assists with 14.

Hines is a business management major and minors in mathematics with a 3.92 GPA. Hines scored 50 goals and added three assists for a total of 53 points. She averaged 3.57 goals per game after missing one contest and leaving one contest early due to injury. Hines also ranks nationally in draw controls per game won. As of the most recent NCAA statistics rankings released on May 10, Hines is No. 35 in Division III with 5.29 draw controls per match. She totaled 74 DCs. She is also just outside of the top 50 in goals per game.
