COLUMBUS, Ohio – As announced on Tuesday morning, Capital University women's basketball junior guard Bri O'Connor has been selected to the D3hoops.com National Team of the Week.

This selection comes on the heels of O'Connor's first OAC Athlete of the Week honor in 2023-24 and her fourth career conference weekly honor. Since January 6, 1998 – the first issue of the D3hoops.com Team of the Week – O'Connor's inclusion marks just the eighth different student-athlete from Capital to be selected to the national team of the week and the 11th unique selection. She is the first honoree since Erin Risner in 2019.

This past week, Capital went 2-0 with a 78-65 win on the road at Heidelberg and a 63-55 win at home vs. receiving votes Ohio Northern. Across the two games, O'Connor averaged 25 points per game on 56% shooting including 71% from beyond the arc. She also knocked down 9 of her 11 free throw attempts this week. Her 26 points at Heidelberg and 24 points vs. ONU marked the two highest scoring efforts of the season for O'Connor.

In addition to her scoring, O'Connor averaged 5.0 rebounds per game, 3.0 assists per game, and 4.5 steals per game on the week.

Across her career, O'Connor has scored 848 points, which includes 682 since joining the Comets' program as a sophomore transfer from Tiffin University.

This season, O'Connor is Capital's second student-athlete to be recognized with a national Team of the Week honor after senior football student-athlete James Curtis was chosen to the D3football.com Team of the Week after a 14-tackle performance vs. Otterbein.
