Nicole Heffington Garners D3Hoops.com Team of Week Honors

| By:
UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio -- It is not a well kept secret around Division III Women's Basketball that Nicole Heffington is very, very good.

The John Carroll University senior forward and former OAC Player of the Year was named to the D3Hoops.com Women's Team of the Week for the second consecutive week, announced Monday evening.

Heffington averaged 27 points per game and seven rebounds per game in the Blue Streaks' 2-game sweep of rival Mount Union. Heffington was also named Ohio Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week for women's basketball on Monday afternoon.

"I'm so proud of the energy and confidence that Heff has portrayed in the last 4 games," said Head Coach Beth Andrews '15. "She's really bought into this being potentially her last season, and she has really left everything out on the floor."

Heffington's banner weekend featured a "Heisman" moment, as she sank a 3-pointer at the buzzer to force overtime on Friday night inside the Tony DeCarlo Varsity Center. Heffington shot an astonishing 61% from the field and knocked down four three balls on Saturday night. Heffington's defense was no joke, either, as she also recorded three blocks and seven steals across the two games.

Heffington and the Streaks resume OAC play this weekend, as they take on defending OAC Champion Baldwin Wallace in a weekend home and home. On Friday night, the Blue Streaks travel to Berea for a 7 pm tip-off before returning for a home contest at 6 pm on Saturday night.
