NEW ORLEANS –Otterbein's Chase Hampton and John Carroll's Kyle Basista have recieved Great Lakes Region honors annunced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association on Tuesday, November 19.
Great Lakes Men's Athlete of the Year — Chase Hampton — Otterbein
Hampton, a senior from Hilliard, Ohio, won the individual title at the Great Lakes Region Championships in 24:02.5. He also won individual titles at the OAC Cross Country Championships as well as the Otterbein Invitational.
Great Lakes Region Women's Coach of the Year — Kyle Basista — John Carroll
Basista, in his sixth year as head coach, led the Blue Streaks to the team title at the Great Lakes Region Championships with 83 points. John Carroll also won team titles at the Ohio Conference Championships and Knight Invitational.
