(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – The Wilmington College men's track & field team had three athletes competing in the Weight Throw at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships Friday morning. The Quakers were one of four schools to have multiple participants in the event and were the only ones to have three throwers.
JJ Durr took home his first career National Championship in the event, winning by 0.06m with a career best throw of 20.14m.
Nathen Borgan finished fourth with a toss of 19.54m while
Justin Shuga finished 15th in his first career nationals appearance at 18.06m.
Durr and Borgan are All-Americans in the event for the second straight season and Wilmington was the only school to have two All-Americans in the event for the second straight year. These two are now four time All-Americans, also earning the honor in the Hammer Throw the last two outdoor seasons.
After the first flight of throwers, Borgan jumped into the lead with his 19.54m throw to start off the second flight. Durr overtook him with his winning 20.14m mark on throw two, and they sat 1-2 in the competition for several minutes. Gavin Fritsch, of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, broke this up with his third throw of the day at 20.08m to take over second place before the start of finals.
The only major movement in the finals was when Shane Anderson of Monmouth College (Ill.) grabbed third place with a 20.02m toss on his final throw of the day.

These three will be off for a few weeks before they begin their outdoor season on March 28th at the Don McGarey Invitational in Kennesaw, Georgia, hosted by Kennesaw State University.
