GENEVA, Ohio—Senior Matthew McBride (Conneaut) set a Division III National Record in the 600-meter run winning with a time of 1:17.93 Saturday afternoon at Spire Institute.
Mount Union men's track team picked up 10 other top three performances as well on Saturday.
McBride along with senior
Justin Knoch (Canton / GlenOak) went under the previous school record in the 600-meters aw McBride won and Knoch took second with a 1:20.61.
Mount Union ran two different 4x400-meter relays that finished first and third currently sitting them 6th and 8th in the nation. McBride combined with seniors
Tyler Gill (Greenville, Pa / Reynolds) and
Tylir Shannon (Transfer, Pa. / Reynolds) and freshman
Brady Burrey (Bellfontaine) took home the win with a 3:17.41.
Senior
Kyel Wolff (Cleveland / Cuyahoga Heights) won the pole vault with a jump of 15-feet 7-inches which would be good for 10th in the nation but Wolff has jump the nation lead earlier in the season.
Freshman
Bret Wingard took second in the triple jump with a leap of 43-feet 11.75-inches.
Freshman
Ryan McVicker (Dover) took home second in the shot put with a heave of 48-feet 6.75-inches.
Senior
Andrew McVicker (Dover) finished third in the 60-meters in a time of 6.91 good for a tie of 18th in the nation.
Senior
Dominic Deshuk (Amherst / Steele) finished third in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.45.
Sophomore
Jahdon Wimbush (Northfield / Nordonia) picked up third in long jump with a leap of 21-feet 4.25-inches.
Freshman
Stephen Ulrich (Louisville) picked up a top three finish with third in the 5,000-meters with a time of 15:25.01.
Mount Union now splits between the Penn State meet hosted on Jan. 27-28 at University Park, Pa. or at Baldwin Wallace on Jan. 28.
