GENEVA, Ohio—Matthew McBride (Conneaut),
Jared Storm (Barberton),
Tyler Gill (Greenville, Pa. / Reynolds), and
Justin Knoch (Canton / GlenOak) won the programs sixth outdoor 4x400-meter relay title for the men's track and field team at the NCAA Division III Track and Field Championships Saturday afternoon.
The Purple Raiders finished inside the top 10 for the fifth straight year placing seventh with 25 points just five points behind Rowan and Wartburg.
The quartet covered the track in a time of 3:09.44 which was .58 seconds ahead of second-place Rowan.
McBride and Storm earned their second All-American honor in the day finishing fourth and seventh overall running a 46.87 and 47.77 in the 400-meters.
This is the first title for all the men competing on the 4x400-meter relay and the first title in the race since 2018. For McBride, Gill and Storm this is their fourth All-American award and Knoch picks up his second.
Tanner Slack (New Concord / John Glenn) was the national runner-up on Friday in the high jump. This was his third straight runner-up award in his track career.
UW-Eau Claire won the men's title with 73 points.
