ALLIANCE, Ohio -- Mount Union's men's track and field team, ranked No. 10 in the nation, won its 10th straight and record 41th overall team title at the 2022 Ohio Athletic Conference Indoor Championships Saturday at the McPherson Academic and Athletic Complex.

The Purple Raiders won six of the 19 events contested and scored 248 points which was 64 ahead of second place No. 8 nationally-ranked John Carroll (184).

Junior
Brody Coleman (Knox, Pa. / Keystone) won the Most Outstanding Field Athlete of the Meet, junior
Jared Storm (Barberton) won Co-Outstanding Sprinter of the Meet and
Kevin Lucas with his coaching staff got co-coaching staff of the year.

The Purple Raiders got the meet going with the high jumpers go taking the top four spots with two of them tying for fourth. Seniors
Tanner Slack (New Concord / John Glenn) won the event as
Evan Hershberger (Dalton) got second with leaps of 6-feet 11-inches good for a second-place tie in the nation.

Sophomore
Elijah Cobb (Mansfield / St. Peter's) finished with a third place good for All-OAC honors jumping of 6-feet 8.75-inches good for a tie of 11th in the nation!

The 4x200-meter relay team consisting of seniors
Tyler Gill (Greenville, Pa. / Reynolds),
Zack Munchick (Westfield Center / Cloverleaf), junior
Matthew McBride (Conneaut) and freshman
Haden Gibson (Brookfield) broke the School and OAC record with a time of 1:28.75.

Coleman returned to his winning ways taking a victory in the triple jump with a leap of 47-feet 10-inches.

Storm won the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.89 seconds.

The Purple Raiders got five more all-conference awards (top three performers) with senior
Carson Troyer (Sugarcreek / Garaway) and sophomore
Dominic Deshuk (Amherst / Steele) grabbing second and third in the 60-meter hurdles, sophomore
Vincent Giumenti (Dover) with second in the 1,000-meters, senior
Alex Bryan (Genevea) third overall in the 800-meters and the quartet of Bryan, Deshuk and senior
Hunter Probert (Gnadenhutten / Indian Valley) and sophomore
Curtis Joppeck (New London).
