AUSTIN, Texas – On Wednesday, the College Sports Communicators released the 2023-24 Academic All-America® men's swimming & diving teams.

For the first time in John Carroll Men's Swimming & Diving history, the Blue Streaks can claim a repeat winner.

Forrest Campbell has been selected to the Academic All-America® Third Team.

The graduate student swimmer claims the award after returning for his Master's in Educational Leadership, following a season out of the pool. Campbell last claimed Academic All-America® status in 2021 when it was called CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of American) rather than CSC.

What a comeback season it was for the Solon native.

Campbell found his groove at the end of the season, leading the Blue Streaks in the limelight. The veteran won six events at the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships, earning crowns in the 200 FreestyleRelay, 400 Medley Relay, 200 Medley Relay, 100 Butterfly, 100 Backstroke, and 100 Freestyle. The fifth-year accepted the OAC's Male Swimmer of the Year Award.

The graduate student qualified for the NCAA Championships in three events: the 100 Back (qualifying: 49.02; time at NCAAs: 49.28, 18th), 100 Free (qualifying: 44.82; time at NCAAs: 45.78, 40th), and 200 Medley Relay (qualifying: 1:28.68; time at NCAAs: 1:30.42, 22nd).

Academically, Campbell juggled his classwork while actually teaching in the classroom. Campbell's students can also look up to him as a 4-time CSCAA Scholar All-American and 3-time Academic All-OAC honoree.

Campbell is one of four individuals in program history to earn this distinction from CSC/CoSIDA.
