Gino Nave Selected to USILA Team of the Week

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – For the second consecutive week, Capital University men's lacrosse has placed a student-athlete on the USILA/Blatant Lacrosse National Team of the Week. This week's honoree was sophomore Gino Nave who follows teammate Mason Spaulding who earned the honor last week.

This honor marks the second USILA selection for Nave after he picked up the award on March 15th of his freshman season. This selection marks the ninth selection in program history and the sixth under head coach AJ Smith.

This week, Nave performed exceptionally on defense as he ended a nail-biting 10-9 loss to No. 22 ranked Kenyon College with a career-high six caused turnovers and seven ground balls. Nave's defensive efforts directly translated to offense as he recorded the caused turnover, ground ball or both on plays that directly led to five of the Comets' nine goals.

Nave and the rest of the Comets will head back down to Tennessee this coming weekend as they travel to Rhodes College for a 1 p.m. CST (2 p.m. EST) contest.
