LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- On Wednesday morning, Capital University men's lacrosse faceoff specialist
Freddy Noday was selected to the USILA/Blatant Lacrosse National Team of the Week. This a first career weekly recognition at any level for the freshman from Powell, Ohio.
Noday is the third Comet this season to be recognized on the USILA Team of the Week as
Mason Spaulding and
Gino Nave were both recognized the week of March 13th.
The recognition for Noday comes on the heels of a successful week at the faceoff dot. Freddy won a combined 29 of his 38 battles, good for a 76.3% win rate. In addition to the wins, Freddy recorded a combined 14 ground balls in the two games. In particular, his dominance in Capital's 13-5 win over Ohio Northern helped lead the Comets to the No. 3 seed in the OAC standings. In that game, Noday went 15-for-21 and had seven ground balls individually.
On the year, Noday has won 183 of his 308 battles -- a win rate of 59.4%. He also leads the team with 77 ground balls.
Noday and the rest of the Comets will be back on the field tonight as they travel to Wilmington College for their final regular season game of the year. The opening faceoff is slated for 7 p.m.
