Men's Golf Wins OAC Regular-Season Tournament for the First Time in Program History

For the first time in program history, the John Carroll University men's golf team won the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Regular-Season Tournament at the Hudson Country Club in Hudson, Ohio on Saturday afternoon.

Results

The Blue Streaks shot a 309 over 18 holes, with Otterbein just one stroke behind them at 310 and Heidelberg at 312. Baldwin Wallace and Muskingum also tied for fourth, recording a 315.

DJ Smith led the Blue Streaks, totaling a 75 to earn the title of co-medalist. Michael Schnur was one stroke shy of the senior with a 76 to tie for third. Mike Furey and Sean O'Grady were in a 10-way tie for 14th with 79's, while Nolan Laughlin finished in a seven-way tie for 33rd with an 81.

With his 75 on the day, Otterbein's Kurt Fortman  joins Smith as a co-medalist. A three-way tie consisting of Schnur, Marietta's Gage Herb, and Heidelberg's Andrew Sikorski followed, with the each golfer tallying a 76.

John Carroll will next compete in the OAC NCAA Qualifying Tournament from May 3-5 at the River Greens Golf Club in West Lafayette, Ohio.
