MARIETTA, Ohio — Marietta College junior
Mason Lydic (Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio/Woodridge) was named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week Tuesday (Feb. 23) morning. Presented by Scoutware the weekly honor roll honors five players each week of the season.
Lydic averaged 24.0 points per game and shot 62.1% (18-of-29) from the floor, 58.3% (7-of-12) from three-point range and was a perfect 5-of-5 at the free throw line in Marietta's two wins over previously ranked Mount Union last week. The two wins propelled the Pioneers into first place in the Ohio Athletic Conference Standings.
Lydic scored a career-high 29 points in the game one win. He was nearly unstoppable hitting 73.3% (11-of-15) of his shots, including 71.4% (5-of-7) from behind the arc.
Marietta, currently ranked No. 9 nationally, is scheduled to wrap up the regular season with a pair of games against Capital University this weekend. The Pioneers host the Crusaders at 7 p.m. on Friday (Feb. 26) and travel to Columbus for a 6 p.m. game on Saturday (Feb. 27).
