Ben Day Earns Spot on D3football.com Team of the Week

Ben Day excelled vs. Muskingum on Saturday.

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS -- Following a spectacular week at Muskingum, the Blue Streaks have a player on the D3football.com Team of the Week (presented by Scoutware).

Ben Day has made the D3football.com Team of the Week for the first time in his career.

The junior is the first Blue Streak to win the honor this season, and the first JCU player to garner the honor since Tyler Thimons on October 10, 2023.

Day destroyed his offensive line foes last week, consistently pressuring the Muskingum backfield. The defensive end showcased speed and athleticism in his pursuit of the ballcarrier all game long on Saturday.

The Brecksville native compiled a fantastic statline of 5 tackles, 2 sacks, 2 tackles for loss, and 3 passes defensed. It marked the first game for Day in his career with multiple sacks and tied his career high for tackles (achieved also vs. Heidelberg). JCU held Muskingum to just 0.7 yards per carry and kept the home team out of the end zone until very late in the fourth quarter.

The Brecksville Broadview Heights alum has undoubtedly become a star on the defensive line for the Blue & Gold.

Day and the Blue Streaks will be back in action on Saturday, as John Carroll hosts the Shamrock Game at 1:30 pm at Don Shula Stadium.
