ALLIANCE, Ohio – The No. 2 nationally-ranked Mount Union football team will host the No. 13 Alma Scots in the NCAA Championship Second Round on Saturday, November 25 at 12 p.m. at Kehres Stadium.
Mount Union (11-0) and Alma (11-0) won their respective First Round games on Saturday, Nov. 18. The Purple Raiders, won 56-14, over Alfred State, while the Scots won, 32-17, over DePauw.
This will be just the third meeting between the two programs, with the last matchup in 1983 (Mount Union is 2-0).
The game will be broadcast live online ($10) and on the radio on 1310 AM WDPN and WRMU 91.1 FM.
The winner of Saturday's game will take on the winner of the matchup between #11 Cortland and #18 Grove City on Saturday, December 2 at a time and location to be announced.
The Purple Raiders claimed their 34th Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) title. Mount Union has a 112-20 (.848) record all-time in NCAA Playoff games, advancing to the Championship Stagg Bowl 22 times since 1993 with a record 13 National Championships. Mount Union has made the tournament a record 34 times.
Alma is coming off back-to-back perfect regular seasons and Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) titles, program's firsts in 55 years. This is the Scots' fifth NCAA Playoff appearance.
