Track- John Carroll senior Gabriella Kreuz (Lakewood/St. Joseph Academy) set the school record in the 3,000-meter run and placed fourth with a time of 10:16.6 at the Kent Golden Flash Gala.

Field- Marietta senior Aimee Cline (Rittman/Rittman) set a new school record and placed second in the weight throw at the Marietta First Glimpse. Cline’s throw of 14.85 meters broke the old mark of 14.84 meters set in 2009. Cline also finished second in the shot put with a mark of 11.60 meters

Track-Capital senior Caitlin Prange (Columbus) recorded a pair of runner-up finishes and helped lead the 4x200-meter relay team to first place (1:52.70) at the Capital Challenge. She placed second in the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.09, and finished second in the 200-meter dash in 26.60.

Field-Capital freshman Ashley Freshkorn (Columbus/Hamilton Twp.) helped the Crusaders to a second place finish out of six teams at the Capital Challenge. Freshkorn posted a school-record throw of 48-11.00 to place second in the weight throw and won the shot put with a toss of 37-08.00.

Track-John Carroll senior Gabriella Kreuz (Lakewood/Joseph Academy) won the lone title for the Blue Streaks at the Otterbein Invitational, crossing the finish line first in the one-mile run (5:11.51).

Field-Marietta senior Aimee Cline (Rittman) shattered her own school record in the weight throw with a distance of 15.83-meters to place third overall at the Ramapo College Select Meet. Her previous record was 14.85-meters. Cline also placed fifth in the shot put with a throw of 11.54-meters.

Track-Otterbein junior Abbey Gray(Waynesfield/Goshen) won the 60-meter hurdles and placed second in the 200-meter dash (26.83) at the Denison Lid Lifter last Saturday. She set a Denison Mitchell Fieldhouse record in the hurdles with a time of 9.20 seconds.

Field-Muskingum senior Tanisha Ford (Conneaut) broke the school record in the weight throw at the Denison lid-lifter meet on Saturday with a toss of 54-1.25. The mark, which ranks eighth in the nation, broke the previous school record of 50-8.75 that Ford set in 2013.

Track-Capital senior Caitlin Prange (Columbus/Bishop Watterson) swept the 200 (26.69) and 400 (1:00.8)-meter dashes, en route to leading the Crusaders to a second place finish at the OAC South Split meet. She also let the 4x400 (4:22.60) team to victory.

Field-Baldwin Wallace sophomore Kim Gallavan (Auburn Twp./Kenston) won the weight throw at the OAC North Split meet and placed fourth at the University of Findlay Elite Thorwers meet. At Finday, Gallavan set a career-best with a toss of 52-feet and 9.25 inches to place fourth and first among Division III throwers. She won the weight throw at the OAC North Meet with a throw of 52' 2.5".

Track-John Carroll senior Gabriella Kreuz (Lakewood/St. Joseph Academy) opened the weekend with a third place finish out of 158 competitors in the 800-meter run at the Boston University David Hemery Valentine Invitational. Kreuz broke the school record clocking in at 2:15.3. Kreuz also helped set two school records in the 4x400 relay (4:03.97) and the distance medley relay (12:17.37). Overall, the distance medley relay took 13th out of 30 teams.

 

Field-Baldwin Wallace sophomore Melanie Winters (Stow/Stow-Munroe Falls) scored 3,488 points to place first of 10 competitors in the five-event pentathlon at the All-Ohio Division III Multi-Event Championships. She placed first in all but one event. The 3,488 points is the sixth best point total in NCAA Division III this year and set a BW school-record. She won the 60-meter hurdles in a time of 8.94 (922 points), the high jump clearing 5’ 3.75” (759 points), the shot put with a throw of 31’6.50” (504 points), the long jump with a leap of 17’10.25” (683 points). Winters took second in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:35.97.

Track-Mount Union sophomore Jocelyn Sefick (Willowick/Eastlake North) placed second in the triple jump (34-7.5) and placed third in the high jump (5-0.25) to lead the Purple Raiders to first place at the All-Ohio Meet.

Track-Mount Union junior Brooke Mathie (Louisville) placed second in the 1,000-meter run at the Kent State Tune-up with a season-best time of 3:02.8.

Field-Baldwin Wallace sophomore Melanie Winters (Stow/Stow-Munroe Falls) won the long jump and reset two school records at the Kent State Tune-Up. She won the long jump with a school-record leap of 19'3.25", which ranks her second in Division III. In addition, Winters placed sixth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.02 seconds. She reset her own school record and stands fifth in Division III with an 8.91 in a preliminary heat.

Track-Ohio Northern junior Catie Huber (Findlay) won the 1,500-meter run in 4:49.91 at the Washington & Lee (Va.) Carnival. She also finished third in the 400-meter run (2:22.25).

Field- Baldwin Wallace sophomore Kim Gallavan (Auburn Township/ Kenston) placed fifth in the hammer throw with a career-best throw of 158'10" and sixth in the discus with a career-best toss of 137'10" at the Charlotte 49er Invitational. Gallavan finished first among Division III student-athletes in each event.

Field-Marietta junior Brittany Kidd (Bedford, PA/Bedford High School) cleared a personal best 3.35 meters on her first attempt to win the women’s pole vault at Marietta’s Don Frail Invitational Saturday.

Track-Wilmington junior Tricia Steffen (Baltimore/Liberty Union) placed 10th overall and was the top Division III finisher in the 1500-meter run with a school record time of 4:53.7 at the Bellarmine Invite.

Field-Baldwin Wallace sophomore Kim Gallavan (Auburn Township/Kenston) won the shot put with a throw of 43'11.25" and discus with a throw of 134'1" as the Yellow Jacket placed second of 10 teams at the Ohio Wesleyan Marv Frye Invite.

Track-Mount Union junior Courtney Reese (Cleveland/Cornerstone Academy) won the 400 meters with a time of 56.93, which is the third best time in Division III at the All-Ohio Championships. Reese was also was part of the winning 4x100 relay and their time of 48.07 is also third best in the nation.

Field-Mount Union senior Kristen Gromes (Navarre/Fairless) placed second in the javelin with a career-best mark of 124-10 at the All-Ohio Championships.

Track- Mount Union senior Taylor Ruffing (Attica/Seneca) won the 100 meter hurdles (14.93) and placed second in the 100 meters (12.25) at the BW Sparky Adams Invitational.

Field-Baldwin Wallace sophomore Maggie Urban (Cleveland/St. Joseph's Academy) placed second in the hammer throw with a school record mark of 172 feet and two inches at the BW Sparky Adams Meet. She is currently ranked ninth in Division III.
