NEW CONCORD, Ohio—The Mount Union women's track and field team won its third straight and 10th overall Indoor Track and Field Ohio Athletic Conference title Saturday afternoon.
To earn All-OAC honors in an event or relay the ladies must finish top three.
Mount Union won the meet with a total of 199 points which was 33 ahead of second place Ohio Northern with 166 points.
Kenadee Wayt (Wheeling, W. Va. / Wheeling Central Catholic) was named the OAC Most Outstanding Sprinter as she added to her 500-Meter win with an OAC and school record in the 60-Meters running 7.52 which is second in Division III, won the 200-Meters in a time of 24.85 and anchored the win in the 4x200-Meters with a winning time of 1:46.09.
Joining Wayt in the 4x200-Meter Relay win was sophomore
Kristen Walters (Gretna, Neb. / Gretna) and freshmen
Monica Clark (Akron / Manchester) and
Kalie Campbell (Wooster / Triway).
Big points came way of the shot put as
Makayla Sitzlar (Sugarcreek / Garaway) and
Makenna Rudy (Salem) finished first and second with throws of 43-feet .25-inches and 41-feet 11.5-inches.
The 4x400-Meter team of
Elizabeth Funkhouser (Carrollton),
Halle Cochran (Salem),
Mary Mason (Alliance / Marlington) and Maddy Miles (Padua / Padua Franciscan) with a time of 3:56.86.
Mason took second in the 800-Meters with a time of 2:15.26 which will convert to the 16th fastest time in Division III this year.
Gia Venuto (Ravenna / Southeast) finished third in the mile with a 5:11.79.
Natasha Zahursky (Painesville / Riverside) finished third in the 60-Meter hurdles with a time of 9.35.
Miles took third in the 200-Meters with a time of 25.58.
Mount Union will return to the track next weekend as they will host a last chance meet on Friday and Saturday.
