NEW ORLEANS, La. – All-Academic Athletes and Teams for the 2023 NCAA Division III Men’s and Women's Track & Field seasons were announced on Thursday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). The OAC had 23 male and 23 female student athletes named All-Academic Athletes by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, as well as five men's and six women's All-Academic Teams.
Kenadee Wayt was named the 2023 NCAA Division III Women’s Outdoor Track & Field National Scholar Track Athlete of the Year. Wayt, who maintained a cumulative GPA of 4.0, swept the short sprint titles at the 2023 NCAA DIII Outdoor Track & Field Championships with victories in both the 100 meters and 200 meters. This is the first time in program history that an athlete from Mount Union has been named National Scholar Track Athlete of the Year during the outdoor track & field season.
Individuals were recognized as All-Academic student-athletes for having at least a 3.30 grade point average and posting a top-50 national mark in an individual event or part of a relay team with a top-35 national mark. Teams were recognized as All-Academic Teams for having at least a 3.1 grade point average on a 4.0 scale through the most recent semester.
