Westerville, Ohio-Mount Union has been tabbed as the favorites in preseason voting by the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) softball coaches.
Ohio Northern tallied 79 points (eight first-place votes), followed by Marietta with 68 points, Baldwin Wallace with 61 points, and Ohio Northern and Muskingum each with 57 points (one first place vote).
Last season, The Purple Raiders finished the season with a 38-11 overall record and went 14-4 against league opponents. Mount Union clinched both the OAC Regular-Season and Tournament titles, while advancing to the NCAA Regional Championship game for the first time in program history.
The Purple Raider are under the direction of eighth-year head coach Meghan Simons and will kick off their spring campaign with their annual Spring Break trip in Florida February 29-March 9.
