NEW CONCORD, Ohio—The Mount Union men's track and field team won its 12th straight and 43rd overall Ohio Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships Saturday afternoon.
To earn All-OAC honors in an event or relay the ladies must finish top three.
Matt McBride (Conneaut) was named the OAC's Most Outstanding Male Sprinter of the meet as well as Coach Lucas and his staff earning OAC Men's Staff of the Year.
Mount Union won the meet with 198 points which was 42 points ahead of John Carroll with 156 points.
Jared Storm (Barberton) was co-champion in the 200-Meters as he ran a 22.08 and teammate
Brady Burrey (Bellfontaine) tied for third with a time of 22.13.
Storm also finished second in the 60-Meters with a time of 6.92.
Vincent Giumenti (Dover) took home the victory in a battle of a mile with a time of 4:13.77 with teammate
Mason Kutz (Dalton) finishing third with a 4:17.48.
Dominic Deshuk (Amherst / Steele) finished second in the 60-Meter hurdles with a time of 8.43.
Curtis Joppeck (New London) finished second overall in the 800-Meters with a 1:53.96 which is ranked 23rd in Division III.
The quartet of Burrey,
Nick Turner (Strongsville) along with
Josh Fouche (Cuyahoga Falls / Walsh Jesuit) and
Haden Gibson (Brookfield) took second in the 4x200-Meter Relay with a time of 1:29.28.
Deshuk teamed up with Isaac Pittman (Copley),
Nick Scherson (Memphis, Tenn. / Christian Brothers) and
Justin Knoch (Canton / GlenOak) in the 4x400-Meter Relay with a 3:23.03.
Liam Blake (Alliance / Marlington) took home third in the 1,000-Meters with a time of 2:31.18.
Ryan McVicker (Dover) finished third in the shot put with a toss of 51-feet 6.25-inches.
Mount Union will return to the track next weekend as they will host a last chance meet on Friday and Saturday.
