Marietta's Tom Arison Named 2025 Men's Golf Coach of the Year

 

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Marietta College Head Golf Coach Tom Arison was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Golf Coach of the Year on Monday, as voted by the league's men's golf coaches.

Arison guided the Pioneers to four top-ten finishes and five top-five finishes this season. Most recently, the Pioneer men finished seventh at the OAC Men's Golf Tournament this spring. Sophomore Zach Huscusson earned All-Conference honors with a strong performance, tying for 10th place with a nine-over-par total of 223 (74-74-75).

Arison also led the men's golf team to a first-place finish at the Ohio Northern Jimmy Hanlin Collegiate Invitational on April 7, where the Pioneers topped a field of nine teams in the 36-hole tournament. At the top of the individual leaderboard, Marietta’s Mason Korner tied for first with Capital’s Keegan Billingham and ONU’s Ian Briars, as all three finished at four-over-par 147.

Also this season, at the Grove City MBA Invitational, Marietta’s Zach Huscusson finished in a three-way tie for medalist honors with a one-over-par 71. He shared the top spot with teammate Kelson McCurdy and Grove City’s Luke Gronbeck. Arison led the Pioneers to a fourth place finish overall, posting a team score of 307 (+19) on the par-72, 6,749-yard course.

In addition to coaching duties, Arison serves as Chair of the OAC Golf Coaches Committee, where he helps coordinate meetings, assists with planning the conference tournament, secures officials and manages various other responsibilities.
