Capital senior Daniel Shafer (Hilliard/Hilliard-Davidson) tied for second place at the Mount Vernon Nazarene University Cougar Classic at Chapel Hill Golf Course. Shafer shot the best first-round score with a one-under par 71 and finished two-over par with a 146. Capital placed fourth out of ten teams.
