Otterbein junior catcher Wes Meadows (Marion/Ridgedale) helped the Cardinal’s to a 3-0 record last week, going six-of-11 (.545) with 12 runs, one double, two home runs and 10 runs batted-in. Meadows hit the game winning grand slam in a win over Baldwin-Wallace and went four-for-five in a come from behind win at Transylvania (Ky.).

Marietta senior Logan Lewis (Nashville/Tri-Valley) picked up three wins to help the Pioneers to a 4-1 record last week. Lewis pitched 4.1 innings in relief with a 0.00 ERA and three strikeouts.

Marietta senior shortstop Tim Saunders (Alliance) helped the Pioneer’s to a 5-0 record last week, going 17-of-25 (.680) with 11 runs, two doubles, two triples, two home runs and six runs batted-in. Saunders finished the week a 1.160 slugging percent and five stolen bases.

Muskingum senior Todd Spadaro (Grove City) pitched eight innings and finished the week with a 0.00 ERA. Spadaro fired a complete game three-hitter with six strike outs to help lead the Muskies to a win at Ohio Northern.

Capital junior outfielder Patrick Jackson (Grove City) went nine-of-19 (.474) with seven runs and four runs batted-in. Jackson posted hits in all five of the Crusaders’ games last week, including three hits at Wooster on Monday. He also recorded four hits, four runs and three runs batted-in in the Crusaders’ sweep of Wilmington.

Marietta senior Mike Mahaffey (Worthington/Bishop Watterson) received the win in the Pioneers’ victory over Otterbein last week. In six innings, he scattered three hits and struck out seven. He also threw 1.1 innings of shutout relief again John Carroll.

Mount Union sophomore first baseman/pitcher Zach Carlino (Pittsburgh, Pa.)helped the Purple Raiders to a 4-0 record, batting .600 (nine-for-15) with seven runs and six runs batted-in. Carlino also pitched a complete game shutout against John Carroll, giving up only four hits and striking out five.

Marietta junior Kyle Lindquist (Columbus/Worthington Kilbourne) posted a pair of saves in three appearances to help the Pioneers to a 5-0 record last week. Lindquist pitched four innings of shutout relief, allowing just one hit with a 0.00 ERA and striking out five.

Muskingum senior first basemanColton Newell (Carrolton) helped the Berg to a 4-1 record to remain tied for first place in the OAC. Newell batted .611 (11-of-18) with 10 runs, six runs batted in, two doubles and two home runs. 

Marietta senior Austin Blaski (Reynoldsburg) pitched a complete game shutout in a win over Capital last week. Blaski scattered three hits, struck out nine and did not walk a batter.

Heidelberg senior shortstopRicardo Lizcano (Toledo/Start) led the Berg to a 3-0 record last week, batting .500 (five-of-10) with seven runs batted-in and four runs scored. Lizcano also hit three home runs in three consecutive games to tie the school career record at 31.

Otterbein senior Dustin Reuter (Reynoldsburg)threw a complete-game shutout to help the Cardinals to a victory over Mount Union in their OAC opener last week. He allowed just two hits in seven innings, walking none and striking out 11 batters.


3.26.12

Ohio Northern freshman outfielder Dan Belliveau (Chardon) went five-of-11 (.455) with two runs, nine runs batted in and two homeruns to help the Polar Bears to a 2-2 record last week. Belliveau finished the week with a 1.000 slugging percent.

Heidelberg sophomore Chris Thomas (Canton/Perry) finished the week with a 1-0 record and 0.00 ERA after starting one game and relieved another. On the week, Thomas allowed just one run, scattered six hits, struck out four and walked three in seven inning.


3.20.12

Otterbein freshman infielder Billy Harkenrider (Westerville/South) helped the Cardinals to a 4-1 record last week.  Harkenrider batted .500 (eight-of-16) with seven runs, three runs batted in and two doubles.

Marietta senior Austin Blaski (Pandora/Gilboa) went 1-0 on the week with a win against No. 7 Piedmont and earned the save against Dension. In 10 innings of work, Blaski gave up just five runs, no earned runs, walked one and struck out 14 batters. On the week, opponents hit .152 against Blaski.


3.13.12

Wilmington senior infielder Bruce Dunlap (Circleville/Logan Elm) opened the season with an impressive week at the Gene Cusic Classic in Florida. Dunlap batted .581 (18-for-31) with three doubles, two triples, six runs, 14 runs batted in and compiled a .806 slugging percentage.

Baldwin-Wallace junior Pat Havens (Twinsburg) finished the week with a 2-0 record and a 0.00 earned run average in two starts. He pitched 10 innings, allowing just two hits with19 strikeouts and five walks.
