Quincel Named to D3baseball.com Team of the Week

NATIONAL TEAM OF THE WEEK

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – After landing weekly honors from the Ohio Athletic Conference, Otterbein senior shortstop Brayden Quincel has now earned a spot on the D3baseball.com Team of the Week stemming from his impressive spring break.

Now in its 12th season, D3baseball.com's weekly honor roll highlights the top performers nationally at each positions from the previous stretch of games. Players are selected via nominations from their schools sports information/athletic communications office.

Quincel (Grove City/Grove City) finished the Gene Cusic College Classic in Fort Myers on a tear, hitting .526 for the week and helping the Cardinals go 5-1 across six contests. He hit safely in every game, drove in 11 runs altogether, and slugged a crisp .947 in the process.

"Q" also remained patient and drew five walks, posting a .643 on-base percentage as a result. He reached six times in a doubleheader sweep over Rhode Island College, which entered receiving votes in the national poll, and was on base another three times against Alvernia.

The preseason All-American is now hitting an even .400 this spring as Otterbein (8-4 overall) travels to Oberlin on Wednesday afternoon for a non-conference affair.
